Dynamite Hill Farms
As an Indigenous-led, community-driven organization, it’s really important to us to support other Native efforts far and wide. We know that uplifting the Indigenous lifeways and values is helpful for everyone. Our values provide a compass for collective healing of the culture and the earth.
In this spirit, we were very excited to welcome Dynamite Hill Farms to join us for our Second Annual Community Appreciation Wild Rice Soup Cook-Off. Owned and run by Ojibwe food producers, Jerry Jondreu and Katy Bresette, the wild rice they tend and harvest was provided to the cook-off contestants and made the competition possible!
Jerry was also able to come down and share some old stories as well as info about the work they do on the farm. A natural and gifted storyteller, Jerry offered a beautiful story as a call to deepen relationship with the land to set our hearts right.
Dynamite Hill Farms is located in L’Anse, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula, and it was a special honor to be able to provide wild rice from a local and Indigenous-owned community business dedicated to preserving Indigenous Life-ways. Deeply appreciate Dynamite Hill Farms and the work they are doing!
